Foster Creek SAGD and Cogeneration Project
The Foster Creek facility is located in the Cold Lake region of northern Alberta. The Foster Creek SAGD and Cogeneration project included the addition of an 80-megawatt cogeneration plant to provide additional power and steam to the steam-assisted gravity drainage facility. In 2000, Bantrel was selected to provide full EPCM services, along with commissioning and start-up support services, for the cogeneration plant. The project included two gas turbine generator trains, each with a heat recovery

Kemess Mines
Bantrel was retained by Centerra Gold to provide engineering and procurement services for the Kemess Mines Tailings Disposal Facilities Project. Bantrel@s scope consisted of tailings pumps, pipelines with the associated facilities for transporting tailings up to 60,000 short tons/day from the mill site to tailings impoundment area located approximately 7 kilometers from the mill. Reclaimed water from the tailings impoundment was to be returned to the process water pond near the mill for reuse. T
Kemess South Tailings and Reclaim System Project
This project was unique from the process / mechanical prospective. It required pumping a slurry of super gene and hyper gene material against a head of ~ 300 m over a length of 7.5 km. The technical challenge was to develop a cost-effective design to handle the potential surge pressures of up to 880 psi. Other technical challenges facing Bantrel were the extremely low mill effluent temperature (4°@C) which necessitated a detailed thermal transient analysis to ensure the pipeline would not fr

Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4
Bechtel was retained to complete the construction of Vogtle Units 3 @ 4 in 2017. When finished, Plant Vogtle@s four units will be the largest generator of carbon-free electricity in the U.S. Vogtle Units 3 @ 4 will be the first advanced Gen III+ units built in the U.S. and are currently the only new nuclear units being constructed in the country. With Bechtel@s completion of Watts Bar Unit 2 in 2016 and selection to complete Vogtle 3 @ 4, we are delivering the first two U.S. nuclear power plant
Keeyask Generation & Infrastructure Project
In 2014, the Bechtel-led BBE Hydro Constructors Limited Partnership began laying the groundwork for this new 695-megawatt powerhouse. As the centerpiece of the Keeyask Generation and Infrastructure Project, its seven turbine units will provide enough renewable energy to power 400,000 homes. BBE is formed of Bechtel Canada in partnership with Montana-based Barnard Construction Company and Canadian contractor EllisDon. The Keeyask project involves massive cast-in-place concrete structures@chiefly
Voyageur I
Description of Work Scope: Bantrel completed the scoping study for Voyageur I in early 2001.@ The DBM commenced in May 2001 and is stated for completion in December 2002.Voyageur I will increase Suncor@s production to about 450,000 barrels per day in 2008.@ The upgrading project scope includes new delayed cokers, three hydrotreaters, hydrogen plant, and sulphur recovery, modifications to the DRU, Vacuum Unit and U@O.@ The Extraction Scope is being prepared by Bantrel/GKO in Edmonton; this includ
