The Sunrise Energy Project is a SAGD oil sands project operated by Husky Energy.

The Sunrise Energy Project is located 60 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The project has regulatory approval for 200,000 barrels of bitumen per day using steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology. Phase 1 is designed to produce about 60,000 barrels of bitumen per day.

In 2012, Bantrel was awarded the design basis memorandum (DBM) and front end engineering and design (FEED) for the next phase of the Sunrise Energy Project. Work on the DBM is scheduled for completion in 2013.
