Bantrel Participates in Calgary Corporate Challenge

November 8, 2011

This year, Bantrel employees hit the streets, the diamond and the pitch to show off their company pride in the Calgary Corporate Challenge (CCC).

The CCC is an annual volunteer-driven, Olympic-like sporting event that is recognized throughout the city. The CCC has over 175 companies, 1,500 volunteers and 18,000 athletes participating in the Games each year.

Bantrel's team started off strong, winning the Torch Relay Spirit Award for being the team with the highest energy and spirit during the kickoff event. Bantrel employees, along with their mascot Bantrel Bob, proudly accepted the award at Eau Claire Market in front of hundreds of cheering participants.

Approximately 100 Bantrel employees participated in 27 CCC events, from cribbage to ultimate frisbee, finishing 20th in the Orange division. There was some fierce but friendly competition and Bantrel did a great job at making their participation count.

Bantrel employees not only sweated it out on the playing fields but they also gave back to the community. Bantrel's Big Bike team raised over $5000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Big Bike and dozens of employees volunteered to roll up their sleeves for Canadian Blood Services.

Bantrel looks forward to participating in the 2012 CCC. It is an exciting time of year and allows employees an opportunity to play together in a fun yet competitive atmosphere while supporting local charities within the community.
