Bantrel's commitment to health and safety has once again been recognized by industry elite.

Bantrel is one of many companies that participate in the Alberta Workers' Compensation Board's Partnerships in Injury Reduction program (PIR). PIR encourages employers to get their people home safely at the end of the workday. By improving their safety performance, reducing workplace injuries and illnesses, an eligible employer can earn up to 20 per cent in WCB premium rebates.

In 2011, WCB issued approximately $78 million in premium rebates to over 9,000 PIR employers for their 2010 results. These companies have proven their commitment to safety by improving performance or maintaining leadership in their industry.

Bantrel has worked closely with safety associations, industry partners, labour groups, Alberta Employment and Immigration, and the WCB to build an effective health and safety program. These efforts were recognized at the annual PIR award luncheon on May 12, where the top 36 safety performers in the province were applauded by the Alberta WCB and Deputy Minister of Employment and Immigration.
