Bantrel Demonstrates Commitment to Environment

Bantrel employees demonstrated their commitment to the environment recently by planting a tree in Toronto and cleaning up pathways and riverbanks in Calgary and Edmonton.

"This is everyone's duty," said Jana, a Control Systems engineer on the Suncor Voyageur project. "We all have a responsibility to keep our community and the surrounding areas clean."
Caring for the Community
Jana was one of more than 20 Bantrel volunteers who took part in the City of Calgary's 41st Annual Pathway and River Cleanup on May 4. The Bantrel team filled about 40 garbage bags with litter.
Karen, a senior librarian who helped organize the cleanup on behalf of Bantrel's Environmental Steering Committee, said it was great to see so many employees and their family members get involved in such a worthy cause.
Bantrel volunteers were among 1,600 who took part in Calgary's Annual Pathway and River Cleanup. In total, more than 3,400 garbage bags were collected across Calgary.
Edmonton proved even more ambitious on May 4 when about 30 Bantrel employees and family members helped clean up the Edmonton River Valley. The weather cooperated and everyone enjoyed a great day improving the environment.

Bantrel's Toronto operations celebrated Earth Day on April 22 by planting a tree next to the office. Vice President and General Manager of Toronto John McVey was among those who performed the ceremonial digging. Bantrel's Toronto Environmental sub-committee also participated.
Bantrel employees were pleased to add new life to their community, particularly as the tree will provide beauty and shade for many generations to come.
