Bantrel to Support Habitat for Humanity

Bantrel is proud to actively support Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity builds homes with volunteer labour, donated supplies and land. A selected family helps construct their home along with other volunteers, and then pay for the home with long-term, no-interest mortgages.

In 20 years, Habitat for Humanity Calgary has built 70 homes, and are currently working on a 27 unit townhouse complex.

Bantrel will participate in two construction days: June 18 and August 16.

Good Fit for the Company
Bantrel President Joe Thompson believes Habitat for Humanity is a good fit for the company.

"Habitat for Humanity has proven to provide spectacular value to the community and people who work on and live in the homes over the years. Habitat's execution model has very low administrative and overhead expense, so most everything goes into the homes. Bantrel is in the construction business and accordingly this is a good way to donate some of our time and talent."

Joe has been personally involved with Habitat for Humanity in the past, so knows the impact it can have on a family firsthand. "I participated in two Habitat building programs in Houston. One was 14 homes following Hurricane Katrina and the other was four homes a year later. I found both cases very rewarding personally, working with colleagues and the future owners on a good cause."

Keep Safety in Mind
Habitat for Humanity and Bantrel are both committed to safety. Whether you're volunteering your time or doing home renovations, please keep safety in mind at all times, wear the correct protective clothing and watch out for coworkers.

While Calgary is piloting the Habitat for Humanity partnership, there is the potential this program will be offered from our Edmonton and Toronto offices in the future.
