Bantrel Names Joe Thompson President

Bantrel has announced the appointment of Joe Thompson to the post of president, effective January 1, 2008. Thompson replaces Paul Lovell, who has retired after 24 years of service to Bantrel.
The appointment was unanimously approved by the company's board of directors December 5, 2007.
Thompson says he is looking forward to building on Bantrel's success. "I am excited about the opportunities ahead for Bantrel and the EPC industry. In 2007, Bantrel witnessed another record year. In 2008, we look forward to focusing our energies on refining Bantrel's competitive edge and taking on new projects."
Thompson joined Bantrel from Bechtel early in 2007 as Senior Vice President, Manager of Projects. He has 26 years of experience with Bechtel. He started in project controls and has worked on all facets of engineering, construction and project management. He has experience in mid- to mega-scale oil, gas and petrochemical projects in the United States, Middle East and throughout Asia, living overseas for a significant portion of his career.
Other Bantrel executive appointments include:
- Jeff McCaig moves into the role of Chairman of Bantrel's Board of Directors. McCaig is one of Bantrel's shareholders, Chairman of Trimac Transportation, and part-owner of the Calgary Flames
- Greg Schneider has assumed the new position of Executive Vice President. Schneider, who has 21 years of continuous service with Bantrel, is now responsible for all Bantrel operations in Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto
- Sigurd Ruud has been promoted to the new executive position of Vice President, Secretary and will continue as Manager of Legal. Ruud will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of Bantrel's operations
