Bantrel sponsored the GoENG Girl conference at the University of Waterloo earlier this month.
GoENG Girl is an event organized by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers. It’s aimed at young girls between Grades 7 and 10, encouraging them to learn more about engineering as a career option.
Bantrel was proud to be affiliated with this event for a second year in a row. Our very own Natalie Mirotta, Process Engineer in the Toronto office, spoke at the event.
Natalie focused on her journey into the engineering world, how it all started and where she is today. There was a great deal of discussion regarding opportunities for young women interested in engineering jobs in the refining industry, and the industry as a whole.
“I had a chance to speak to many of the girls one-on-one,” says Natalie. “I was very surprised by how interested they were in an engineering career, even at such a young age.”
Events like this are an excellent opportunity to get the Bantrel name out into the community, and potentially influence some future female engineers!
