Bantrel's Kuldeep Sodhi, Lead Coker, and Venkat Venkateswaran, Principal Mechanical Engineer, were among hundreds that took in the seminars at Coking.com.
The Bantrel logo was prominently displayed at Coking.com including the welcome reception we hosted with a string quartet. The 2007 Coking.com Process Training, Safety Seminar & Exhibition in Calgary was so successful that Bantrel is already looking forward to the 2008 event.“We’d definitely like to be involved again,” says Stan Lau, Bantrel project director, Voyageur Upgrader. “This was a great event for Bantrel to proudly fly our flag in front of our clients and show we are a leader in upgrader engineering and delayed coking.”
The Coking.com event took place September 17-20. More than 250 people attended. Bantrel was a platinum sponsor and one of about 30 vendors who exhibited.
Bantrel hosted a welcome reception and delivered a paper on “Material Selection Issues in Coker Units.”
In addition, Lau says Bantrel was instrumental in attracting this major industry event to Calgary.
Traditionally, Coking.com—which includes safety seminars from cokers, refiner presentations, equipment and service exhibits and a wealth of networking opportunities for the coking community—has been held only in the U.S.
Event organizers praised Bantrel’s participation. “The seminar was a huge success. The reviews were very positive. The refiners loved it, and the vendors/exhibitors made a lot of contacts,” says Paul Orlowski of Coking.com. “We really appreciate Bantrel’s sponsorship and presence at the event, which gave us the incentive to come to Calgary.”
