Inaugural Bantrel Award Unveiled
August 8, 2007
The first Bantrel Award in Design and Industrial Practice has been awarded to a leading academic who specializes in fluidization and particle technology research.
Professor Jesse Zhu, a Canada Research Chair in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, leads a 34-member team conducting advanced research on particulate and multi-phase flow systems. Zhu has 10 patents and five pending.
This national award exemplifies Bantrel’s commitment to post-secondary research in chemical engineering with an industrial focus. Our sponsorship also ensures students and faculty across Canada are aware of Bantrel’s reputation for innovation, leadership and success.
The Bantrel Award in Design and Industrial Practice award will be presented to Zhu at the Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Edmonton in October. Zhu will give a keynote speech at the conference in recognition of the well-deserved honors.
