Shiva Habibi, process engineer on the Petro-Canada Horizon Project in Toronto, had the opportunity to write a paper while doing a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) hydrotreating simulation for Petro-Canada.

LPG is one of the products from the petroleum refining process. Depending on the feed and production process, LPG may have high olefin content and high sulfur content. To achieve an acceptable specification, the LPG needs to be treated. For LPG hydrotreating, the reactor temperature stability and operational safety are critical issues. Shiva’s paper reviews how to manage the heat of the reaction during the hydrotreating process.

Shiva’s paper was submitted to the Hydrocarbon Processing Journal and was accepted as a part of their July special report on natural gas. You can see Shiva’s paper here.

Great job Shiva!
