Bantrel Engineering Discipline Wins Industrial Design Award

Congratulations to our Civil/Structural/ Architectural (C/S/A) discipline for winning an Industrial Award at the Alberta Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) Design Awards on March 21. The award recognized Bantrel for designing the new cooling tower support structure for the Suncor Energy Millennium Coker Unit, which was fabricated and erected by Waiward Steel Ltd.

This design eliminated concerns around difficult site conditions and presented a safe, economical solution. As well, construction time and labour was reduced by incorporating modularization concepts that reduced field work and maintained the project schedule.
