Petro-Canada RCP Reaches Safety Milestone
February 6, 2007
Ken Thomsen and Garry Kohlruss, the Petro-Canada RCP Site Manager and Bantrel Constructors Co. (BCC) Construction Manager respectively, congratulate the project on its recent safety achievement of 1,000,000 hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).
The milestone is a very significant accomplishment in the project’s quest for “Zero Harm”, which applies to people, property and the environment.
Petro-Canada RCP also recently passed a manpower count of 1400 people. As we move into spring, with more people on the project than ever before, it is as important as ever to continue to be vigilant in ensuring work is planned and that hazards are recognized and dealt with accordingly.
Ken and Garry remind all project employees to take care of yourself and each other. If you see an unsafe condition, do what you can to resolve it or report it to your supervisor. If you witness an unsafe act please do not just walk by, but stop and speak to the person. He/she will appreciate it and you will have assisted the project in achieving its goal.
Once again, to everyone on the Petro-Canada RCP team: congratulations on achieving 1,000,000 hours without an LTI!
