Bantrel is the Canadian pioneer in application of all major 3D design systems.
Bantrel was one of the first EPCs in Canada that adopted the use of 3D design systems as the backbone of an integrated project delivery system. Bantrel's world class integration of 3D design systems into procurement, project controls and construction management systems enables transparent management and planning of deliverables, including the generation of material quantities for budgeting and progress tracking. Our integrated systems enables single point data entry, early access to information, and transparency of functions.

A World-class Team in Action for the Reliance Refinery
An example of this Bechtel/Bantrel multi-office approach is the Reliance refinery in Jamnagar India. This 36-month EPC project required eight of our offices worldwide (Toronto, London, Houston, New Delhi, Jamnagar, Mumbai, Shanghai and Frederick, MD.)
Our innovative and creative approaches helped to minimize the engineering and procurement cycle, yet still provided a safe, optimized and highly flexible world-class refinery.
The Reliance project is part of the single, largest refinery complex in the world. The refinery will process 1.2 million barrels per day.

Our full-service capability includes a front-end engineering group with a complete range of integrated engineering, design, and drafting services, segregated by discipline.
- Process
Our process engineers provide critical design information to a project through scoping studies, detailed simulations, calculations and the resulting datasheets and drawings.
- Plant Layout and Piping
We develop and apply piping material specifications, comply with engineering code and client stress requirements and coordinate all 3D models. We also prepare the piping layout and fabrication drawings among disciplines.
- Civil Engineering
Our expertise spans the full range of site development requirements including grading, earthworks, roads, bridges, dams and source water and waste management systems.
- Structural Engineering
We engineer steel and concrete structures, building structures, foundations, piles and more.
- Architectural
We have extensive experience in the design of industrial facilities, specifications, and code analysis.
- Mechanical
Our expertise spans mechanical systems and the component design of static and rotating machinery, as well as process equipment. We are also experienced in the design of pressure vessels and tanks, heat exchangers and thermal systems, materials handling equipment and HVAC systems.
- Instrumentation and Control Systems
Our expertise includes the production of conceptual designs for industrial control systems and equipment. We also incorporate a variety of instrumentation systems and products into new conceptual designs and upgrades to existing facilities.
- Electrical
We design systems for power distribution, lighting, grounding, control, electrical heat tracing and cathodic protection. We have extensive specific knowledge of high voltage systems.
- Engineering Loss Management
Bantrel is fully committed to safety-based design. Our engineering loss management team is integrated across all disciplines to ensure we control risks and eliminate any potential hazards in our processes, plants, and projects.
