Nga, Senior Purchasing Specialist, Calgary

NgaWhat are your duties at Bantrel?
I am the instrumentation purchasing lead for the Shell Scotford upgrader expansion, which is one of Bantrel’s signature projects. In my role, I work with talented colleagues in offices across North America and Asia and suppliers across the world to manage and coordinate the purchasing function. As part of my responsibilities, I provide coaching in the development of new hires.  My job is very rewarding and at the end of each day, I feel I have helped Bantrel achieve milestones and deliverables for world-class projects.

Why did you choose Bantrel as an employer?
The opportunity to work on some of Canada’s largest oilsands and refining projects initially attracted me to Bantrel. But having been with Bantrel since 2004, there are many reasons why I choose to stay with the company. I have learned a lot over the years, and continue to do so. I have had the good fortune of working closely with many dedicated colleagues and managers who I consider my mentors. For example, on the project I am working on now, there is more than 150 years of combined procurement leadership experience from which I benefit from on a daily basis.
